In September 2004 Parker Travel Collection (PTC) presented a sales and marketing campaign model to UK partners Thomas Cook & QANTAS Holidays. The campaign was based upon PTC ongoing successful domestic TNQ campaign in conjunction with Sunlover Holidays which has generated $7 million of domestic sales with an aggressive retail sales plan. Thomas Cook UK in association with QANTAS Holidays appointed PTC to form a co-operative campaign to achieve this result under the title “Queensland, Australia’s Holiday Hot Spots “. Compilation and production of 100,000 brochures along with stage one distribution to Thomas Cook retail stores was completed by Christmas 2004. The campaign has produced a Queensland training documentary film viewed by over 5000 staff, in-store training sessions, hosted famils, a series of Stage Shows nationwide (UK), regular brochure distributions and product updates to the retail shops. The PTC Thomas Cook Newsletters highlight the multiple activities that have been undertaken. The campaign was expanded the following year to include all of Australia and has now seen Thomas Cook list Australia as one of their ‘CASTLE’ destinations, ranking Australia as one of their most important target markets.
